Although optional for now you should visit Desert Resort because its home to Relic Castle where you can get one of the Unova Regions Fossils. Go north from where you get TM28 to reach the Desert Resort. Like on Route 4 youll run into wild encounters in the deeper darker-colored sand against most of the same Pokemon from Route 4.
